Grasshopper (IBA)
Method :
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled glass.
Ingredients :
30 mls : Creme de cacao white
30 mls : Peppermint green
30 mls : Cream
Instructions :
To make a Grasshopper use the following recipe instructions:
1. Pour the cream, white creme de cacao and creme de menthe into shaker filled with ice.
2. Shake briskly for a few seconds.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Enjoy your Grasshopper cocktail!
Optional: Top with chocolate shavings
One of the great things about the Grasshopper is that you can easily experiment with the ratio of the chocolate and mint to find a combination that fits your taste.
Spear red cocktail cherries onto cocktail picks to create a pair of red "grasshopper eyes" sticking out of the drink. This drink (like many cream or Half & Half-based drinks) can also be made frozen: blend the ingredients with 2 scoops of ice-cream instead of the cream/Half & Half, and a scoop of crushed ice, and serve in a tall wine glass. Add vodka to make a Flying Grasshopper. Remove Peppermint Green and add Creme de Bananas, and you have a Banana Banshee.
